This page features some of the RM routes as they were in the Spring of 2005.

This is Clapton's RM652, a refurbished example of the Routemaster fleet on the 38 in March 2005.

The 38's succumbed to artics later in 2005, but in March the RM's had a summer of hard work ahead of them. In Piccadilly was RM1145, re-registered a while ago now, and showing outward signs that it went through a £30,000 refurbishment not so long ago (clue - upstairs front 'hopper' windows, headlights and larger sidelights).

Putney lost its crew routes on 23rd July 2005. On 12th March 2005 RML2540 picks passengers up in Piccadilly bus lane.

Also in Piccadilly on 12th March was Putney's RML2332 on the 22 looking a little careworn.

Staying with Putney routes, I spent over an hour at Putney Heath on the 2nd July 2005 and caught RML2314 on the 14. Due to the 'Live 8' event in Hyde Park, all 14's were turning short at Hyde Park Corner that day.

On the same day (2nd July 2005) at Putney Common was RML2297 on the 22 which was working shorts to Knightsbridge, but the driver didn't realise that until after they had set the blind to Piccadilly.
A number of buses had started to lose the 'London General' branding but not this bus as you can see.

An ex-Stockwell example is RML2693 also as Putney Common waiting for a short journey to Knightsbridge. If you look carefully you can just see the remnants of the route 11 branding either side of the blind box.

The 36 lost its Routemasters at the end of January 2005. On a cold 8th January RM1666 was found waiting for a return to New Cross at the Queens Park terminus.

This is Westbourne Park's RML2522 at Russell Square on the last Saturday of crew operation in June 2004.
I thought the intermediate blind was a nice touch. Well done First!

I always liked Putney Heath as there was always space to get good shots.

RML2324 worked in Eastbourne for Cavendish where it was photographed. This is a guest photo, but I had some trouble with my emails a few months back and havent managed to recover them so I cant find out who sent it to me to add the appropriate credits!.
